Pomegranate Molasses

Pomegranate Molasses

Regular price $15.00

Mymouné's pomegranate molasses is made by squeezing sour pomegranate varieties and simmering their juice slowly until it reduces down to a tangy, delicious elixir.

Unlike other brands that could be found in specialty stores (yes, this traditional Middle Eastern condiment is a popular ingredient among curious cooks) Mymouné's recipe doesn't contain any added sweeteners. Its 100% pomegranates. It is tart, as it should be. It is not too gooey, it drips gracefully.

There was a time when salad bowls of arugula, tomatoes and feta drizzled with pomegranate molasses dominated the urban café scene in Turkey. Clichés become clichés for a reason, I guess. Pomegranate molasses is a good alternative to balsamic vinegar. It could be added to dressings and marinades. It complements chewy whole grains like farro, wheat berries or freekeh and legumes, think black eyed peas. In Turkey and Lebanon, it peps up sauteed chicken livers.

Mymouné's pomegranate molasses is 100% natural, free from chemical additives, preservatives, artificial essences or colorants.

A thing about Mymouné packaging: Much like the product itself, it feels very homemade. Labels might not be centered on the bottle. :) It adds to the charm.
